Fidelity Investments. In this letter, the two democrats questioned the plan of
Fidelity Investments to let investors put bitcoin in their 401(k)s. They
pointed out that crypto could be a very risky investment option for retirement
savers.

Bitlocus,
a global fintech company based in Lithuania, has announced a partnership with
Striga. Through this partnership, the company will roll out crypto-friendly

Mining Company Marathon Digital Releases Q1Result
North
America's top bitcoin mining business, Marathon Digital Holdings, Inc, revealed
a massive 556% year-over-year increase for the first quarter of 2022. The
company stated that it had produced a record of 1,259 BTC. The company made a
revenue of $51.7 million, a 465% increase from the same period last year.
Bitcoin,
Ethereum and Avalanche showed a spike toward the upside
After
the Fed's meeting on Wednesday, the cryptocurrency market saw a significant
spike in price. BTC moved towards the upside by 5.17% and closed at $39,701.
Ethereum price went up by 5.72%, and the daily candle closed at $2,940.55.
Avalanche saw a double-digit gain of 12.78%, reaching $67.24 by end of the day.

Federal Reserve of the United States raised interest rates by 50 basis points
on Wednesday, May 4. The United States equity and cryptocurrency markets surged
shortly after the news. The price of Bitcoin has gone up by 5% in the last 24
hours, with BTC currently trading at $39,902.
Lawmakers
slam SEC for focusing on crypto enforcement
The
U.S. securities watchdog was criticized by several lawmakers and commissioner
with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for focusing on crypto
enforcement. SEC commissioner Hester Peirce tweeted, “The SEC is a regulatory
agency with an enforcement division, not an enforcement agency. Why are we
leading with enforcement in crypto?”

largest cryptocurrencies were up during morning trade on Wednesday
During
the morning trade on Wednesday, all the largest cryptocurrencies were up with
Cardano seeing the biggest change, climbing 7.24% to 82 cents. Uniswap spiked
5.65% to $7.12, while Litecoin zoomed 3.04% to $101.02. Bitcoin and Polkadot
surged 2.96% to $38,746.71 and 2.95% to $15.08, respectively. Dogecoin and
Ripple surged 1.78% to 13 cents and 1.73% to 61 cents, respectively.

According to a recent decree, domestic and foreign businesses running crypto operations are exempted from income tax in Uzbekistan. The country will also allow miners to use solar power to run their operations.
